Special Interview – Hyunseung

“I was touched as they sang our songs in Korean and this gave me courage.”

- Interviewer: There were a lot of events held in Japan in 2011. What left the strongest impression on you? Please also tell us the reason.
- HS: The July fanmeeting left me a lasting impression. It was kind of tiring to have two fanmeetings in one day but the fans cheered us on earnestly, and more than anything else, they sang our songs in Korean. I was touched by that scene and it gave me courage. It gave me strength to be able to carry on with the performance.

- Interviewer: What was the most surprising or shocking event that happened in Japan?
- HS: It’s not any happening (event) but there are so many self-vending machines that it surprised me. It’s a fresh sight to see self-vending machines wherever we go. There are self-vending machines in Korea too but not as many as Japan.

- Interviewer: You should have been to many places. Which place would you like to go to again, and what food would you like to eat again?
- HS: I’d like to go to Aoyama Douri in Tokyo agai. What I would like to eat again is parfait (ice cream).

- Interviewer: So what’s your impression of Japanese B2UTY? Their characteristic in one sentence?
- HS: How should I say this.. It’s not just in Japan, but our fans from all other countries cheer us on earnestly as well, but the Japanese B2UTY give a very gentle impression, somewhat warm and mature.

- Interviewer: Having visited the Asian countries in July, is there any happening that left the deepest impression on you?
- HS: The fact that we took the plane many times? (laughs) There’s no mistake that it seems like that (was the time when) we took the planes the most often consecutively.

- Interviewer: I would think that you would have learnt the different languages of each Asian country respectively, so which country’s language was the toughest? And also tell us if you have any methods for learning languages.
- HS: When we went to Taiwan, the language was the toughest to learn. Even a simple introduction was so tough.. (bitte laughter) There seems to be no method to learn a foreign language within an instant. Seems like there are no other ways but to learn the language bit by bit.

- Interviewer: However, what do you do all the time on the planes?
- HS: I either watch foreign artistes’ concert videos or listen to music.

- Interviewer: Not only in Korea, but you guys live together even overseas. What’s the good point about this?
- HS: Never alone, so it’s not lonely. The six members are always noisily chatting so it’s definitely not lonely.

- Interviewer: On the other hand, what’s tough? If there is any trouble (with living together with the members), please tell us.
- HS: There are some times when it is tough. For example, when we have group acitvities together, it is impossible that you do not stop your own activities. What kind of (personal) activity? Such as shopping. (laughing)

- Interviewer: Tell us a little about the members’ secrets that only Hyunseung knows.
- HS: Something that I know? None~ (laughs)

- Interviewer: Then tell us a secret about yourself. For example a jinx?
- HS: For example, there’s a photoshoot. If my hairstyle or clothes are not fixed/made sure of, I don’t get any strength? The entire day my mood will not be good. (laughs)

- Interviewer: What about Christmas memories, since Christmas is around the corner? What do you want to do during Christmas this year?
- HS: It’s Christmas soon… For a few years, Christmas was spent doing singing or dance practice so there are no other memories except for practice. However, if this year there is time to spend Christmas merrily, I’d like to spend it in the festive mood like that of those in America.

- Interviewer: So, tell us what are your aspirations for 2012. Anything you’d like to try or do for activities in future?
- HS: Would like to try performing on more stages, in various countries.

- Interviewer: Lastly, leave a message for Japanese B2UTY.
- HS: There’s one thing I’d like to tell all the fans. You! Have fallen so badly/deeply for me right? (mad laughter)

Box Interview – What if ___?

- Interviewer: What if you had 1 week of break what would you do?
- HS: I want to tour Europe. Previously, we’ve been to Spain for a shoot, it was good to be able to feel the relaxed atmosphere. Would like to visit again on a personal trip, not business trip.

- Interviewer: What if there is a time machine, when would you like to go to?
- HS: Back to middle school days. If it is possible to do so, then I’ll be able to start preparing as a singer artiste earlier.

- Interviewer: What if you could exchange with a member, who would you like it to be?
- HS: Doojoon. He’s suave/cool and has a good character.

- Interviewer: What if you could live as another famous person for a week or if you had a chance at another profession, who/what would it be?
- HS: Michael Jackson. Would like to become a person who leaves a legacy in the sphere of music.

- Interviewer: What if you had the ability to move anywhere in the world in a split of a second, where would you like to go?
- HS: London. From there, I’d like to go to all the countries in Europe.

- Interviewer: What if you were born in Japan, what would you be doing?
- HS: Someone who likes to dance and sing, and also probably become a singer?

- Interviewer: If you had 100 million won, what would you buy or where would you use it?
- HS: As I’ve a great interest in fashion, so I’d like to buy a mountain-full of clothes, bags, shoes, accessories etc. Our occupation is one in which we display it to the public, so I want to use it on things that I want to show/display.

- Interviewer: What if you were a girl, what will be your occupation?
- HS: A normal student.

- Interviewer: What if you were an actor, what genre would you like to act in?
- HS: Thriller movie. It’s my favourite genre of movie.

- Interviewer: What if you could go 10 years back in time, what would you like to grab?
- HS: I want to learn how to dance again. If that was possible, the 23-year-old me now would be able to dance even better right?
